General

What is the difference between the trial version and the full version?

The trial version may be used free of charge for up to 30 days. It may only be used for evaluation purposes. Any commercial use of the trial version is prohibited. Web sites constructed with the trial version will contain information stating that fact. Other than this, there are no differences in features and functionality compared to the full version. A project created with the trial version can therefore be opened and used in the full version.

I already have a website. How do I transfer it to a Site Studio Project?

The easiest way is to create a new Site Studio project where you construct a document structure matching your old web site. Then simply copy the information from each page on the old web site (using the copy-function in your browser) and paste it into the Site Studio documents. Site Studio's advanced import functions will automatically copy the content (including tables, images and flash) to your new project.

Can I create multilingual websites?

Yes, Site Studio makes it easy to build multilingual websites. The content is usually placed in different "language roots", using common layouts. Every document also has a language setting, which is used to display localized date formats.

Site Studio has a mechanism for creating search functionality without needing to utilize a server. Simply use the Search component in your layout and you will automatically receive the functionality you want. For information on how to use it, please refer to the help.

Can I use Site Studio to create a website using a database to display information?

Yes, you can use Site Studio for creating such websites. Simply design your web site as you want it and wherever you need to fill content from a database, use the Code Relayer component in the layout. With it you can easily relay server code to every page. If you need your pages to have a different file type (other than .htm), this can be changed in the Document Properties. (The default file type is specified in the Project Properties)

How can I create forms for transmitting data on my website?

Use the Code Relayer to insert your custom xhtml for the form. The code relayer can also be used for the server-side scripting necessary to receive the form.

How can I insert custom HTML or javascript in a page?

To insert custom HTML or javascript in your pages you can use the Code Relayer Component which allows you to insert any code you like into a layout. All pages using that layout will have the code in them. The Code Relayer Component allows you to insert code into the Head and Body sections and also in the onload and onunload events of the final HTML page. However note that this component does not alter any of the code relayed through it, which means that if used with non-XHTML compliant code, the web site generated will no longer conform to the XHTML standard.
