4. Editing Documents

Editing a document is much like editing a document in a word processor. First select the document in the content tree to the left. The document is then displayed to the right in view mode. Viewing a document in view mode is just like viewing a web page in a browser. All menus and hyperlinks are active and work as on the final web site.

To change the content of the document, enter the edit mode.

To enter edit mode click on the Edit button.

Tip! Keyboard shortcut: CTRL+E

In edit mode a red box with a title bar will be shown. The red box shows where content can be edited. (Everything outside the red box belongs to the layout which the document is linked to).

In edit mode the user interface changes into a word processor and the toolbar below will appear.

Usually use styles (eg. normal, heading 1, heading 2 in the leftmost dropbox on the toolbar) for setting formatting on your text. Styles can easily be added (as will be described later). This ensures a graphical consistency throughout the web site.

Most functions are also available on the context menu. A Right-click will bring up this menu. The context menu is "context-sensitive", so if the mouse is placed for instance on a table then the table properties menu item will show up on the menu.

Tip!

Keyboard shortcut for selecting all content: CTRL+A

Double mouse click on a word will select it.

Triple mouse click will select the entire paragraph.

When you are done working with your document click on the Save button to save your document and return to the view mode or click the Cancel button to return to view mode without saving the changes.

Tip! Keyboard shortcut: CTRL+S

Edit the Welcome Page as shown below and save it.
