Project Properties


The Project Properties dialog is used for viewing and editing the settings for a project.

 


Info

 

 

Project Title

The project name is used for creating the project directory structure.

Page Title Format

This field determines how the title for documents (ie. page titles) are assembled. The page title is displayed on the browsers title bar.

Description

A short text to describe the project. The text will be used to create meta information used by the search engines to index the web site.

Created

Information on when the project was created.

Last Modified

Information on when the project was last modified.

Search Engine Indexing Hints

Information to search engines on how this site should be indexed.

Only index the start page:

Instructs search engines to only index the start page.

Index all pages:

Instructs search engines to index every page.

Do not index any page:

Instructs search engines to not index any page (site is not public)

Options

Hide toolbar on large images in Internet Explorer:

Internet Explorer displays a toolbar on large images. With this option set the toolbar is hidden.

Prevent caching of pages:

Sets the expiring date to an old date forcing web browsers to reload the page instead of using a cached copy.

Default Extension

Determines the default file extension for new documents added to the project.

Date Format

This is where the format of the dates used on the web site is selected.

Date Format / Date Format(short):

The date formats, a normal and a short version, used in the project can be selected from these drop down menus.

Language:

Select the language in which days of the week and months should be displayed. This setting is default for the project, but can be overridden by documents. The languages supported are:

  • Danish
  • Dutch
  • English
  • Finnish
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Norwegian
  • Spanish
  • Swedish

There is also a custom option where a custom language can be specified. The custom language is edited in the Custom Language Settings Dialog.


Fields

This tab contains the project related fields. If fields are used on the web site to display information from the Project Properties the info on the pages will be automatically updated if the Project Properties are modified.

 

 


Keywords

In this tab keywords that are relevant for the whole site can be added edited and deleted.

 

Keywords specific to a certain document should be managed from the keywords tab of the Document Properties dialog.

 

 

 

 


Deployment

This tab contains the information necessary for deploying the site on the Internet. 

Web Site URL

The URL to your website (eg. http://www.effectivestudios.com).

Deploy to FTP-server

These FTP-Settings are needed for easy deployment to an external server. Site Studio contains FTP-client software and can copy files directly to the final web server.

FTP Server Address

The URL or IP-number for the server on which the site will be hosted.

Port

This property should only need to be changed for advanced functions. The default port for an ftp-server is 21.

Username

This is the username needed to log on to the ftp-server.

Password

This is the password for the username previously specified.

Remote directory

The directory on the ftp-server that the site should be published to.

Number of Connections

Indicates how many connections should be used to upload files to the ftp-server. If you have a fast connection to the Internet increasing this property could speed up the uploading of the files.

Test Connection

This button is used to see if the settings are correct and that it is possible to make a connection to the ftp-server.

 


 

Advanced

This tab contains advanced settings for the project.

 

 

DOCTYPE

This is to override the doctype used by the web pages.
