Property Types


Each component displays properties which can be set by the user. Properties behave differently depending on their type. Following is a description of the property types used by components in Site Studio.(Note! The names of properties with the same type can vary between components.)

Action

An action is the property used by the component to create links or event actions. For example a hyperlink to another web page(internally or externally) or to a selected resource, such as a PDF-file. This property is filled through the Action Properties Dialog.

Bool

A bool is a true or false value. It can be used by the component to determine things such as wheter to display an image or not. The property is filled through a selection box.

Color

Colors are used by the component in different ways. For instance to display a specified color on some element. The color can be a fixed color, a project color or a document color. The property is filled by using the Color Picker.

Enum

Enums are used by the components as a way of getting the user to select one out of a multiple set of values. The property is filled by the user through a selection box with multiple values.

Float

A float is a decimal(numerical) value. The property is filled through an edit field and the decimals are separated with a "." (period).

Integer

An integer is a numerical value which can contain a positive or negative integer. The property is filled through an edit field.

Menu

A menu is a property used by components to generate menus. This property is filled through the Menu Dialog.

Resource

Resources are used by the component in many ways. The most common use is as a reference to an image. This reference can be either a resource in the project resources or a GRE image. The property is filled through the Select Resource Dialog.

Resource Folder

A resource folder is a property which references to a resource folder in the project. The moste common use for this property is to display an image gallery. This property is filled through the Resource Folder Picker Dialog.

String

A string can be used for multiple purposes. For example it can be used as a label for something that the component is displaying. Strings are entered through the Edit String Dialog.

Style

Styles are used by components to let the user control the style of the component rendered. The property is filled through a selection box containing the names of the different styles of the project.

 

Default Component Properties

Each component has a set of predefined properties. The custom properties are described for each component in this help. The default component properties are:

 

Visible (Bool)

If the initial state of the component should be visible or hidden.

Alignment (Enum)

Determines how to align the component horizontally. The possible values are:

  • Default
  • Left
  • Center
  • Right
