ResourcesResources are collections of external files. They are divided into two categories; Image files and other files such as pdf-files or flash-movie files.
This dialog lets you organize your resources and it is also used to select resources when needed by different functions in Site Studio.
Resource FoldersTo the left there is a list of the different folders containing resources (images and files) for the project. Folders can be easily added and removed with the "Add Folder"- and "Delete Folder"-buttons.
A folder named <Default> is always created with the project and cannot be deleted.
All files imported to a resource folder are copied into the project (eg. placed in the project structure). When importing images an optional transforming stage is possible. Images can be constrained in width, height or both. Additionally an optional thumbnail (preview image) can be created which can be used by special image gallery components in layouts. ResourcesThis is a display of the resources in the currently selected folder. For each resource a title and a description can be provided and for images also a tool tip. These properties are used to display additional information about your resource on your web site.
When you import files into your project they are always copied, thus leaving the original file intact.
You can store any type of file in the resource library but image files are most common. Image files recognized by Site Studio are valid “.jpg”, “.gif” and “.png”-files.
Due to the restiction on creating royalty-free “.gif”-images (Unisys owns the patents for this file format) all “.gif”-files are either just imported as is or if transformed (eg. resized) converted into “.png”-files which is a newer and more flexible file format. Image Context Menu

It allows you to replace the existing image in the resource folder with a different one, but keeping the attributes such as the title, the description and the tool tip. By selecting this option, the Import Options for Images dialog will be opened. Rebuild Thumbnails...This option allows you to rebuild the thumbnail(s) for the image(s) you have selected. This is very useful when working with photo galleries. The settings for the new thumbnail(s) is made in the Rebuild Thumbnails dialog. Import files to folder...New files can be imported by clicking the "Import files to folder..." button. Any file imported will be copied into the project directory (the original file will be intact) and placed in the selected resource folder.
When importing images an optional thumbnail can be created. The thumbnail is used when gallery layouts are used and makes it easy to present an overview of many images at once. The settings for this is done in the Import Options for Images dialog. Delete resourcesDeletes the selected resource(s) from the resource folder and the project. ©2003-2006 Effective Studios.
